In today’s world we are constantly doing, doing, doing.  Too often, we rush from meeting to meeting, deliverable to deliverable, quarter to quarter, home to work and work to home.  You intend to bring your “all,” but are you? Really? How would you benefit if you were given the space along with some intentionality to slow down?  To think about the direction of you, your organization, or team?  To expand your own capacity to be the leader you know you’re capable of being?  To leave the legacy in this world that brings purpose and joy to your life?​​​​​

 

I’m Marybeth Gallagher, President of Insightful Leadership.  Like many, I suffered from the DOING phenomenon, especially when serving as CHRO for a heavy civil construction company.  While I thought I was doing my best, I wasn’t.  Worst part – the people who mean the most to me, my husband and kids were getting my leftovers at home, and that’s not nourishing for anyone, including myself. I’ve learned that doing is only part of the equation — being is just as important. I have greater capacity to build relationships, generate possibilities, and be a more effective leader and more connected human when I allow myself to BE.
